DKPUSBABEL, PANGKALPINANG – The Province of Bangka Belitung (Babel) continues to get attention from the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpusnas RI) in the form of technical guidance (Bimtek) for 100 library managers in Babel province.
The technical guidance which focused for provincial, regency/city, special and school library managers organized by the National Library of Indonesia collaboration with Archives and Library Agency (DKPUS) of Bangka Belitung Province. This event held for two days, started from 17 March to 18 March 2021 via online and it opened by the Head of DKPUS, Asyraf Suryadin.
In his speech, Asyraf explained that a library manager based on Law No. 43 of 2007 concerning on Library consisted of Librarian and Library Technical Staff who is obliged to provide his/her excellent service to users.
"Participating in training and educating in the field of librarianship is a way to form and result a competent library staff. This is the reason why the National Library collaborates with DKPUS Babel held this event in 2021,” said Asyraf at the DKPUS Office, Wednesday (17/3/2021).
Coaching which was packaged in the form of the technical guidance, Asyraf added have two materials: the first material is about "Analysis of Information Needs for the Procurement of Library Materials" delivered by two speakers, namely Kamilah and Khosy Alfin Maulana,.
Meanwhile, the second material of the second day is about "Library Social Media Account Management" delivered by Mariska Duwi Arifin Putri, and Akhmad Priangga.
"Through this technical guidance, it hoped a library staff has skill in supporting the development and utilization of library, has competencies - able to analyze the information which users need and it used for the procurement of library materials using valid process and data, has ability to use the library social media with measurable operational step, "said Asyraf Suryadin.
The Head of Archives and Library Agency, Asyraf Suryadin, also expressed his gratitude to the National Library which had provide guidance for library managers in Babel although via online.
Previously, the Head of the Librarian Development Center of the National Library, Opong Sumiati, said that Babel Province is the eighth province received the technical guidance for library managers via online.
Opong added, Babel get a second round. In 2020, only 14 provinces received technical guidance for library managers. There are 12 provinces left will have a similar technical guidance.
"We are targeting 20 provinces have technical guidance in 2021. Our total target is 1,800 participants with 100 participants for each province" said Opong.
Except, four provinces and Papua will get 50 participants for each province. "Babel gets 100 participants for this year. So, take more advantages as much as you can from this activity, "hoped Opong.
Opong said to librarians to be more active in innovating to meet user information. "Use social media as a promotion media, not just a communication media especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic," said Opong.
In the opening ceremony, the head of Archive And Library Agency, Asyraf Suryadin was accompanied by the head of Sector Library Resource Development, and the head of section Data Collection and Institutional Library, Andayani (rel).
