DKPUSBABEL, PANGKALPINANG – For the first time, the Archive and Library Agency (DKPUS) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province (DKPUS) held Virtual Exhibition of Babel Historic Photo Archives.
The exhibition held from the beginning of April to the end of May 2021 via web page: dkpus.babelprov.go.id.
For this reason, the Head of DKPUS Babel, Asyraf Suryadin invited all levels of community from inside and outside Babel to visit the exhibition.
“Let’s visit a Virtual Exhibition of Babel Historic Photo Archives via web page: dkpus.babelprov.go.id. Let's take advantages of this exhibition to explore and to know more about the histories happened in Babel, "Asyraf invited.
The Head of DKPUS said that the historic photo archives which were displayed virtually are about buildings in Babel, the visit of President Soekarno and his group to Bangka on September 9, 1951.
There are also photo of Vice President Mohammad Hatta while giving a speech at the General Meeting in Sungailiat, a house where Bung Karno and H. Agus Salim were exiled in 1948, the train station at the Manggar tin mining, Biliton Island in 1930, and other historic photo archives in Babel.
"Due to Covid-19 pandemic, we cannot gather many people. So, we innovate to organize a Virtual Exhibition of Babel Historic Photo Archives through the web page: dkpus.babelprov.go.id," said Asyraf.
For the beginning step, there were 59 photos displayed. But, we will update the photos every day.
The purpose of this virtual exhibition, added Asyraf, is to introduce the historic photo archives collection of Archives and Library Agency to local community and to the world.
