PANGKALPINANG: The Library Service of the Archives and Library Office of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel) Province has officially moved to the new building in the Integrated Office Complex of the Provincial Government of the Bangka Belitung, Air Itam Pangkalpinang, since May 12, 2023.
Head of DKPUS Babel Rakhmadi said that currently his staff is moving books and infrastructure to support library services from the Library Service Building on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to the new Library Service Building in Air Itam, or next to the BNN Province Babel Building.
Since May 12, 2023, said Rakhmadi, the Provincial Library Service has been closed temporarily and will reopen on July 30, 2023.
He stated that when library services start operating in the new building, there will be many activities related to increasing interest, culture, and love of reading carried out by DKPUS.
Rakhmadi apologized to the Babel community for the library service disturbance.
He stated that DKPUS would invite numerous components and groups to hold their events in the new provincial library service building.
"The library service building's purpose is to educate and prosper the community." So, in the future, we hope that the building may be used to assist the community as much as possible," he said.
Meanwhile, for the archives sector, he said, is still occupied the old DKPUS building on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman No. 3 Pangkalpinang. (Translated by Maria Ulfah)
