PANGKALANBARU – Provincial Secretary (Sekda) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel), Dr. Drs Naziarto, SH, MH, officially inaugurated Sri Rahayu Mulya Naziarto, SAP as the Mother of Literacy for Babel Province for the period 2022-2024.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by the reading of the inauguration text, putting on the sling on the Literacy Mother's and beating of the gong by Naziarto (Sekda) as well as the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Provincial Literacy Mother and the Regency/City Literacy Mothers of Babel.
The inauguration ceremony taken place at Soll Marina Hotel, Pangkalanbaru, Central Bangka, Babel, Wednesday morning (6/7/2022), witnessed and attended by officials from the Forkopimda, the Chairman of Persit Chandra Kirana 045 Garuda Jaya, the Chairman of Bhayangkari Polda Babel, the Chairman Adhyaksa Dharmakarini Babel, Administrators of DKPUS.
The ceremony was attended also by the Regency/City literacy mother of Babel, the Head of DKPUS and Literacy Activists of the Regencies/Cities throughout the Province of Babel Island, and other related elements.
Before the inauguration the ceremony, to welcome the arrival of the provincial secretary and the mother of literacy, the Head of the Ancient Manuscript Preservation and National Collection of DKPUS Babel, Dr Mirdayati draping of batik scarf on them, continued by singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya and the Library Hymn together.
In his direction, Naziarto said that the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Babel was ready to support the activities of Literacy Mother.
Naziarto suggested the Babel Literacy Mother to carry out synergy with the Babel Provincial Government and related agencies at the Regency/City level.
Naziarto also conveyed a number of messages to the literacy mother. First, she must be able to make herself as a motivator, starting from her own family to the wider community.
Second, as a motivator, she must be able to raise her family reading interest. Third, she must be able as a facilitator, to manage the relationship between the local government and the community in terms of reading interest.
The fourth point, the Mother of Literacy able to be a mediator, conducted socialization on interest and love reading the community in the regions.
Fifth, the Literacy Mother must be able to coordinate, collaborate, and synergize. "As the memorandum of understanding just signed between the Literacy Mother of the Province of Babel and the Regency/City Literacy Mother," said the Regional Secretary.
Sekda added that the mother of literacy must be able to build an effective communication too. If all done, what will be right and good followed.
Re-invigorate Reading Interest
After being inaugurated as the provincial Mother of Literacy, Sri Rahayu Mulya Naziarto said that she will campaign the reading interest by collaborating with cities/regencies.
"One thing we can do in our environment is reactivate the existing Reading Corner, we will help the community receive clear information and regenerate the reading interest," she said.
Because, according to the world, in general, Indonesian people's reading interest is still low. “We have many libraries, but our reading interest is low. That's why we need to re-invigorate reading interest in our environment," she said. (Translated by Maria Ulfah)
