PANGKALPINANG - After laying the first stone by the Acting Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel), Ridwan Djamaluddin, and the start of construction on July 25, 2022, the new Babel Provincial Library Service Building (Perpusprov) Babel is immediately occupied and ready to provide public services.

As an initial step in preparing services for the community in Babel, on Wednesday (8/2/2023), the Head of the Archives and Libraries Office (DKPUS) of Babel Province, Rakhmadi, together with DKPUS employees, cleaned the building.

Head of DKPUS Babel Rakhmadi said the new Bangka Belitung Provincial Library Service Building is ready to be launched in March 2023.

Rakhmadi explained that the new Perpusprov Babel building, worth more than 14 billion rupiah, has four floors and is equipped with an elevator and a number of facilities.

"The 1st floor is used for services consisting of children's play room, lactation room, and librarian workspace. The 2nd floor is visitor reading room. The 3rd floor is mini theater room, computer room and meeting room. The 4th floor is used for the rooftop," explained Rakhmadi.

For this reason, Rakhmadi asked for support from the entire community, especially from bumi serumpun sebalai community that this service building can function as originally planned.

"We hope this Public Service Building used by people from various groups. Please take advantage of this library building for community activities. Because the existence of this building to educate and prosper the community," he concluded. (Translated by Maria Ulfah)
